Pick Once Rules
Each
week, you will submit one golfer as your player for that tournament, and you
“earn” whatever your player earns for the week.
However, you are allowed to select a golfer only once per season.
Once you use Tiger, you can’t use him again. This game is very similar to Cut Golf in this regard.
The
rules:
- Your selection can be
made (and changed) until 12:00am (midnight) eastern time on the day prior
to the tournament.
- If you fail to make a
selection in any week, you will earn no money for that week. If you fail to make a selection for any
four weeks, you are a goner. I’m
not going to waste computer space and my time tracking dead teams.
- If you make a duplicate
selection, you will be counted as failing to make a selection. I will attempt to notify you of your mistake
if I can, but I can only do that if you don’t wait until the last minute
to make your selection. Selection
history will be available on the leaderboard.
- Any PGA tour golfer is
eligible, the eligible list is not restricted to the golfers yahoo has in
the 3 groups (A, B, C).
- If your golfer pulls
out of the tournament or gets DQ’d, it still counts as your use of that
player, UNLESS your guy pulls out AFTER the submission deadline and BEFORE
the start of play. You’ll end up
with $0 for the week (you won’t be able to choose a replacement). However, you will still be able to use
the golfer in a later tournament.
You will not be counted as a failing to make a selection.
- If you golfer MC’s, you
score $0 for that week. You can’t
use him again.
- The tournament yahoo is
using for the week is the same tournament Pick Once will be using as the
eligible tournament.
The
first week of play will be the first YAHOO! tournament, the Pebble Peach Pro-Am.
Play will conclude with THE TOUR Championship (this is also the end
of YAHOO! Golf). The way I count
it, that’s 40 tournaments, so plan accordingly.
As
far as figuring out who’s playing in which tournament, you’re on your own. I recommend checking out www.pgatour.com/tournaments on
Monday or Tuesday before the tournament begins. The will have a link to a tournament page, which will in turn
have a link to the field. But check
back often for WDs. If your guy WDs
prior to the tournament, you will score $0 for the week, AND you will have used
that player’s eligibility for the game.
Any
questions, email me at alextris@yahoo.com.
Good
luck.
